INTERRUPTING THE OLD STORY

Each time you have a negative thought about your goal that is creating that intense and all so familiar fear emotion which prevents you from making that change, you must immediately become conscious of it. You must remember what the fear really is and what it means, and then interrupt that thought with a positive opposing statement.

Creating an opposing statement to what that fear dialogue is telling you is easy. For example, your fear is saying, “It’s going to cost me way too much money and I’m going to fail if I try this.” Pause, then become aware of that dialogue and what it’s telling you. Write it all out on a piece of paper in detail, then on a new piece of paper write the opposite to what you wrote on the first paper.

“I have complete trust that the money I need will come to me in expected and unexpected ways that will support me through this exciting endeavor. I am already a success because I am working towards it. If others can do it, so can I.”

Before I made the scary move to start my massage therapy practice, I had a mental paradigm that told me I wasn’t smart enough and I would fall on my face if I tried. I would allow this internal dialogue to form who I was regarding reaching this goal, and it would determine the actions I would take toward it. Which, in this case was none because that fear belief and negative dialogue inside my mind kept me from deciding to make that leap, the very same decision which propelled me into freedom and fulfillment in my massage career.

Once I was able to identify what was stopping me from making the choice to become my own boss, I reinforced that decision with positive self talk and things that would motivate me while I was on that path. Anything else that came into my conscious awareness that was not serving me and was trying to push me off that journey, I would immediately replace with the opposite.

Remember this my new friend, a paradigm is a belief you embody which has habits connected to it that physically acts out that belief, and a belief is simply something you tell yourself, or have been told, over and over.

Replace the negative thinking as soon as it pops up into your conscious awareness with the opposite of the fear dialogue, and you will find that eventually, you will weaken that paradigm so much so that your new positive replacement thoughts will now become the dominant directing force in your mind.

The repetitive nature of doing this mental task and mental conditioning is what will completely change your outcomes to where you’re wanting to go. You will find that because you are consciously steering your thoughts and emotions to where you want them to go, you automatically begin to reflect that through your behaviors and actions.
